MINIATURE COURSE: The Nature of Genetics
THE CREATIVE NATURE OF GENETICS
Genetics can be approached as a creative
topic, with some historical speculation.
For instance, consider that genetics is a recent
concept.
From a certain point of view it was not valid
until it was discovered or invented.
At an earlier stage the idea of having children
or bearing certain Character or traits was
deemed far more significant than mere proteins
in the body.
Then let us consider that genetics is theorized
to be solely a function of Darwinian evolution.
As such it is distinguished from "Idea", but as
such it consists solely of what I will call a "bullet
logic", as though a product of a Billete Deux, an
automated execution.
Then let us say that genetics consists partly of
thoughts, or otherwise, that we can conceive
that genetics is a form of bullet-dodging, a kind
of video game.
In this thought experiment it is still seen that
genetics has value---but what precise kind,
teleologically?
